This program stores and manages paper documents and computer files by storing and categorizing them into a searchable ADO-compatible database like MS-Access, MS-SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Sybase or IBM DB2. It converts scanned documents to TIFF or JPEG images, and compresses other file types and stores them directly into the database. The optional OCR plug-in can extract the keywords from your documents, or you can categorize documents into customizable folders. Your documents can be retrieved by searching through folders graphically or by keywords, and then they can be printed, e-mailed, or saved as an image or PDF document. DSS can store a sub-set of your database to a CD-ROM. The CDs will automatically run without DSS being installed on the destination computer.
These documents in the database can become live in any Web browser across the Internet using the DSS Web version product.
Note: The enterprise version is available for $429, for use with MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Interbase, IBM DB2 or Sybase.
