This is a real-time video messaging application with voice, text chat and file transfer capabilities. If you have a microphone and a camera hooked up to your PC, it provides you with a free video phone. If no microphone is available, the conversational aspect of the program can be accomplished through text-to-speech synthesis.
You are represented in DKMessenger by a handle and an avatar. Your handle is a unique identifier that other users can see. Your avatar is an image you choose to represent you in conversations.
